City meets nature here at Brown’s Island! Located on the James River in the heart of downtown, Brown’s Island features a walk trail, access to the Canal Walk, and tons of events and festivals throughout the year are hosted here. The island is open to the public when there is not a special event happening. Access the T. Tyler Potterfield Bridge from the West end of Brown’s Island.
