Tredegar is a Civil War museum on the James River which is open to the public for visits. The original site was established in 1837, and was one of the largest industrial sites up through the Civil War (the largest in the Confederacy), supplying much of the artillery for the South. Today, Tredegar hosts many exhibits exploring different cultures involved in the Civil War era. The institution takes pride in showing important Black history to help everyone understand a variety of ethnic endeavors during those times.
