Project Description
The Virginia Capital has a long and rich history dating back to the 1800s when it was designed by Thomas Jefferson and famous architect Charles-Louis Clérisseau. It served as the Capital of the Confederate States and it also houses the oldest elected legislative body in the country. You can tour the building for free Monday-Saturday 8:30am to 5:00pm and on Sunday 1:00pm to 4:00pm. The Capitol Square Grounds are open daily from 7:00am to 11:00pm.
