In 1956, the Armenian community of Richmond founded St. James Armenian Church. Two years later, the parish began the Annual Armenian Food Festival, the oldest festival in the Richmond area. The 2nd Street Festival in historic Jackson Ward neighborhood features four stages of live music over two days. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the Mid-Atlantic's largest street festivals.
